Technical

Welcome to the tech page. This page has been written to ensure that before you turn up to your first North East Rock gig, you have an idea of what to expect when you get there, and what you need to bring in order to play.

All you need to bring is your voice. We recommend you take a good supply of drinking water with you to keep your vocal cords in good shape throughout the night.
You may take your own microphone with you if you wish however we stipulate that it must be an industry standard (with a balanced XLR connector and at least of SM58 quality) microphone designed for live use (no omni/studio mics!).
We cater for up to three singers as standard, contact us if you have any special requirements.

We provide one guitar amplifier, or at least ensure there is one available for everyone to use, at every gig. The house amp is an AVT 150 combo. If you have two guitars in your band we recommend you have an extra guitar amp available. Because of the myriad of situations we end up in with guitar amplifiers there are rarely any hard rules and we try to work out everything with the bands on a gig-per-gig basis. Just make sure we know what to expect when we book you :).
Very old guitar amplifiers (example: early fenders with the polarity switch and no ground connector) may be disallowed for safety reasons.
Remember to take all your cables!!!

Bring your bass.
We provide a Peavey TNT 115 bass amp but if you want to bring something better (and preferably let the other bands use it too) you can.
Basses are also DI'd straight to the desk.

Provide your own keyboard stands, stools, music stands, etc.
You will be put through a DI box straight to the desk. Monitoring will be through the stage monitors, you might want to bring a keyboard amplifier if you have any concerns about hearing yourself.
Please contact us before playing if you have any special needs (like more than one feed from your keys)

You are expected to take your own cymbals and snare drum. We provide a standard Pearl Export 5 piece kit with hat stand, crash stand and ride stand. Please take any additional hardware you think you will need.

Contact us before playing!
